Center for Discovery Kansas City offers residential treatment for adults ages 18 and older who are struggling with eating disorders. Located in Shawnee, this 12-bed facility serves the greater Kansas City area and provides a structured level of care within a warm, home-like setting. Its proximity to Kansas City International (MCI) Airport makes it accessible for both local residents and those traveling from out of state. Building Tools for Sustainable Recovery Clients participate in evidence-based, trauma-informed therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and exposure and response prevention (ERP). The CARE-CFD Model supports a weight-inclusive, trauma-aware nutritional philosophy, guiding individuals toward a more balanced and healthy relationship with food. Continued support after discharge includes structured aftercare planning, access to a personalized Discovery app, and alumni groups that encourage ongoing connection and accountability.
