Founded in 2009, the center occupies a renovated 1930s‐era manor surrounded by live oaks, pecan trees, azaleas, crepe myrtles, and a scenic bayou creating a calming, reflective environment for healing.

The center’s mission is to deliver compassionate, dignified care through a holistic treatment model that addresses the medical, psychological, psychiatric, and spiritual aspects of addiction and co‑occurring mental health conditions. Edgefield emphasizes respect, empathy, and a change‑oriented mindset in a therapeutic community built on the 12‑Step tradition, cognitive behavioral therapy, and rational emotive behavior therapy.

Upon admission, each client receives a complete medical assessment and psychiatric evaluation conducted by a multidisciplinary team including an Addictionologist, a family nurse practitioner, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and licensed clinical staff. Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT) is offered when appropriate using medications like buprenorphine, naltrexone, or naloxone to manage cravings, withdrawal symptoms, and support sustained recovery.
