Townsend Recovery Center is a comprehensive addiction treatment facility located at 195 Highland Park Plaza, Suite 200, on the fifth floor of New Orleans East Hospital in Covington, Louisiana. It serves adults and young adults (age 18+) facing substance use disorders, including alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, methamphetamine, and cocaine.

The center offers both medical detoxification and residential care for 30-to-90-day programs, providing a secure and nurturing environment with 24‑hour nursing supervision and personalized support from a clinical team.

Once medically stabilized, patients transition into structured residential programs that emphasize holistic healing. The approach combines evidence-based therapy, psychiatric care, and dual‑diagnosis treatment for co‑occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and personality disorders

Therapies include:

• Individual psychotherapy (one-on-one counseling) to uncover underlying causes of addiction and build coping skills.
• Group therapy where clients share experiences, practice relapse prevention, and support one another.
• Family counseling, including Weekly Family Night, to improve communication, rebuild relationships, and involve loved ones in recovery.

Complementary therapies and wellness activities enrich the experience yoga, outdoor adventures, fitness classes, nature walks, and catered gourmet meals help promote emotional and physical well-being.

After residential care, patients may enter an optional Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). IOP typically includes 9–20 hours per week of therapy, combined with future planning, life‑skills training, and opportunities for medication‑assisted treatment (MAT) using buprenorphine (Suboxone), naltrexone, or acamprosate.

Townsend encourages long-term recovery through aftercare initiatives, including chronic disease management plans, alumni groups, weekly continuing care meetings, and alumni events to strengthen social support and maintain sobriety.
